I am a freshman in college and specifically bought this backpack because I needed it to be water-resistant. It fulfills that, but on the inner side of the material, it is slightly damp. However, no water droplets were able to penetrate into the interior of the backpack. If you carry a laptop or iPad in there, it is still a good idea to secure it with a case or laptop sleeve to ensure no water can get to your electronics. I would NOT recommend trusting this backpack's water resistance in heavy rain. I walked in medium-light rain and none of my belongings got wet. That is the only intensity of rain I can recommend this backpack for. I can envision your belongings getting wet, but not soaked, in heavy rain. Perhaps a waterproof backpack cover will do you justice to a backpack you already own.Aside from the water-resistance, the quality and durability is great! This will definitely last all 4 years I go here. The pockets fit everything that I need (13.3in laptop, a two 3-subject notebooks, a small planner, a calculator, my wallet, a portable charger, a charging cable, pencils, and a lanyard containing my ID card and keys) with some space to spare.Only two comments - there is a sleeve at the back of the main zipper in the backpack. It is very low and will likely not hold your notebook/laptop well. Additionally, the diagonal zipper at the front should only contain light items, because when you put heavy items and wear the backpack, it sort of slouches down and is visually unpleasant. It works great, though!I have owned many backpacks, and this is one I love best. I bought the red one and it is true to its color in the image provided. It looks very cute and will last you a long time! :)
