I'm very impressed with Sandpiper of California. I've had their Bugout Backpack for a few years now and really like it; however, it's a bit large for a day hike, so I decided to purchase the Three Day Pass for use as a day pack. The quality and workmanship is excellent. Frankly, I'm surprised that I was able to purchase it for the price that I did. It seems like it should cost more.The bag is very tough and very intelligently designed. I like the fact that it has a chest strap, waist strap and lots of variously sized compartments and pockets for storage. I also appreciate the compression straps which allow you to reduce the size of the pack when it's not fully loaded. I recently went on a winter day hike in a national forest near my location. I had a lot of gear because I didn't know what to expect, yet the bag was able to accommodate all of it with ease and in a way that made it simple to find things when I needed them.
