I got this pack for Splitboarding and just to have a bigger pack for day hikes. It is really comfortable and holds everything I need perfectly. My helmet, gloves, extra layer, water bottle, and other random things fit without maxing out the capacity. I like that the roll-top allows for the bag to compress quickly to different sizes and the built-in rain shell will come in handy when it starts to snow. The thing that attracted me to this pack was it's bigger than my Heli-Pro and doesn't have all the useless straps. I like to keep everything in my pack so I cant get snagged in the trees. The hard frame also keeps any oddball things from poking me when the pack is secure. This is hands down my new favorite pack. It is a bit heavy like another reviewer said, but not so heavy that I would care for any day-to-day uses. Plus, that heft is totally worth it for such thick and tough fabric. It's VERY well made, and extremely comfortable on my frame (I'm 5'8" with a slightly long torso). The stretch side and front pockets are fantastic for quick-access things, which I think is necessary for a fold-top pack which isn't quite as quick to get in and out of as a normal zippered pack. I love it!I like the versatility of this bag. It is rugged and should last a long time. The stretch pockets are well designed. I also find the rain cover and its storage pocket conveniently placed.I don't see a good use for this backpack in my life. It is heavy for hiking, and it doesn't have one of the key features I need in an everyday bag: that is, side access to the laptop compartment. I also can't think of why I would need one of its distinctive features, the extendable roll top -- maybe it would be useful for climbers, to carry ropes? Some people might like its distinctive look, but to me it reminds me of a military bag.Pluses: Good quality materials (and recycled, too), stretchy and deep side pockets that hold a large water bottle firmly in place, attached rain cover (stored in a bottom pocket) and nicely adjustable shoulder harness.Osprey Archeon 25 Men's Roll Top Backpack is actually on the bag is great, I love the quality of build and materials, the comfort of the mesh, the stiffness of the frame, the adjustability of the harness. However, I find that even for a office geared bag, there is a distinct lack of features available. One, despite the office focus, the hydration pack compartment is not padded enough or has enough give to provide space except for small laptops (>=13"), especially with the curve built into the frame. There could of been more add ons but good for the outdoors and will hold up. The price is right. This Osprey ARCHEON 25 is by far the best backpack I have ever owned. Rugged. Durable. Pockets for everything you need. Pockets that have just the right size. Pockets in the right place. It is comfortable on my back. It is ergonomic. The only thing it doesn't do is go 90 miles an hour unless you have it inside a Mercedes going 90.THIS IS THE ONE TO GET.The bag is solidly built and everything on the bag is top notch . . . however it is lacking in attachment points and easy access secure pockets.Things can slip out of the front and side panels if your bag tips over. The only external easy access zipper is the rain cover storage at the very bottom of the bag. The internal hydration pack sleeve is not suitable to hold a laptop, mainly due to the lack of space and the curve of the frame pushing up against it.Otherwise, the bag carries weight well, made with high quality materials, the mesh back does it's job, DWR finish holds up to light rain. It just bothers me that for a 190$ bag, a few small feature additions (lash points, equipment loops) would have been more appropriate.I will update if I get the opportunity to test out if I can manage to take the bag onto a plane as a personal item.Lightweight, good construction. It's put together really nicely with good, thick material and quality stitching. The reinforcement is al lightweight composite metal and nicely form-fitting. It has good ventilation against the back. It has a holder for a water bladder pack, a rain cover, and plenty of well-placed pockets.
